Enmore

Terrace plumbing is our bread and butter

Enmore is small, tightly packed and almost entirely Victorian and federation. Step off Enmore Road, past the theatre and the cafes, and you are into streets of single-fronted terraces and brick semis with courtyards barely big enough for a clothesline. From Newtown to Enmore Park and the Marrickville border, nearly every house predates PVC.

That makes Enmore plumbing its own kind of work. Access is tight, pipes are old, and half the time the fault is on your side of the fence while the pipe that carries it away is on the neighbour's. Pink Plumbing is based in Earlwood, a short drive from Enmore, and we work these streets every week as part of our Inner West service area.

What We Fix

What goes wrong in an Enmore terrace

Shared sewer lines and the neighbour's yard

Rows of Enmore terraces were often built with a single sewer line serving several houses, running along the back of the block to the street or rear lane. When it blocks, everyone on the run finds out at once, and the blockage is frequently under someone else's courtyard. We locate the fault with a CCTV camera, clear it with a high-pressure jet blaster and, where the clay pipe is cracked, reline it without digging up someone else's yard. Blocked drains →

Tree roots in earthenware pipe

Enmore's street trees and courtyard figs are the main reason its drains block. Roots follow moisture into the open joints of old earthenware pipe. Jet blasting clears them; relining stops them coming back.

Galvanised pipe and faded pressure

Many Enmore homes still carry water through galvanised steel nearing the end of its life. Pressure drops, then a pinhole appears behind a wall. We repipe in copper or PEX, opening as little of the original fabric as possible. Burst and leaking pipes →

Add-on bathrooms and laundries

Most terraces have had a bathroom and laundry bolted onto the back at some point. Falls are wrong, floor wastes sit high, and the waste ties into the old sewer in ways that make sense to nobody. We sort the drainage properly when we renovate, and fix the quick things quickly when we are not.

Hot water and gas. Enmore hot water systems live in side passages and courtyards a metre wide. When one fails, we match the replacement to the space, including compact continuous flow units and heat pumps. Older gas lines we test, repair, install and certify. Hot water systems →

Enmore Road, Terraces, Music Venues

Enmore's terraces and Enmore Road, where busy kitchens sit on old drains

Workers' cottages and terraces. Enmore filled with Victorian and Federation terraces and small cottages over the decades after its first subdivisions, and many are still standing close together. Older homes can have earthenware or cast iron drains and galvanised water pipe, depending on repairs. We camera the line first and show you the footage.

Enmore Road trade. The Enmore Theatre was built on Enmore Road in 1908 and the strip has been busy ever since, with cafes, bars, bakeries and shops. Kitchens and bathrooms that work hard on old pipework are prone to grease blockages and worn joints, and we look for the cause rather than just clearing it.

Shops with flats above. Upstairs flats share stacks and drains with the shop below. We trace where the line goes, tell you which section is yours, and write it up for the owner or strata manager.

Tight lanes, little room. Many properties have only a narrow side passage or rear lane. Tell us how we get to the back when you book and we plan the equipment to suit.

Refits over old lines. Shops and venues refit often, and new sinks and floor drains are joined to older pipework. We check the join and the line beyond it so a smart fit-out does not sit on a failing drain.

Emergencies

Emergency plumber Enmore, after hours too

Burst pipe, sewer backing up into the shower, no hot water, a gas smell: ring 1300 111 007, after hours too. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber.

Straight Pricing

Upfront pricing in Enmore

Upfront fixed price before any work starts. You only pay for the work we do, with no call-out fee in business hours and interest-free Payright options on larger jobs.

Property Managers

Rentals and investment properties

A large share of Enmore's terraces are rented. We work with property managers on work orders, arrange access with tenants directly, quote a fixed price for approval and close out with a photo report.

Local Business

Enmore Road cafes, bars and venues

Enmore Road is one of the busiest small-business strips in the Inner West, and a blocked grease trap or failed hot water unit closes a kitchen. We handle commercial plumbing for cafes, bars and venues along the strip, including gas certificates for fit-outs and fast attendance when something fails mid-service.

Questions

Enmore plumber FAQs

Will I be charged just for you turning up?

No call-out fee in business hours. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber. The policy reads the same whether you are in a Petersham terrace or an Ashfield flat, and you hear the number on the phone before anyone gets in the van.

Are the plumbers who turn up actually licensed?

Yes. NSW plumbing licence 311287C, fully insured, and every job is done or supervised by a licensed plumber. That matters in Inner West terraces, where half the work happens in a cramped subfloor or a narrow side passage and the shortcuts nobody can see are the ones that leak two winters later.

Are you local to Enmore?

Our base is Earlwood, a few suburbs away, and we are around the Inner West most days. Give us your street and we tell you the real travel time, not a guess.

Do you attend emergencies in Enmore after hours?

Yes, nights from 6pm to 7am, the on-call plumber answers 1300 111 007, quotes the after-hours call-out fee before we dispatch, and we aim to be on site within 60 minutes for emergencies near Enmore.

What does a plumber in Enmore cost?

General plumbing from $242 inc GST, confirmed on site, with an upfront fixed price before any work starts. No call-out fee in business hours. You can get a guide price for common jobs from the online quote tool in about a minute.

My cafe or shop on Enmore Road keeps getting blocked drains. What can be done?

We camera the drain to find the cause, whether grease, roots or a broken joint, and quote the options in writing. For a food business we also talk through a regular clearing schedule so a blockage does not close you in a busy week.

Do you work around trading hours for shops and venues?

Within our business hours we plan around your trading, and we tell you in advance what is noisy or messy. For a true emergency outside those hours the on-call plumber answers 1300 111 007.

Can you reach a drain in a terrace with only a narrow side passage?

Yes. Most terrace jobs we do are done through side passages, rear lanes or a yard access point. We protect floors and paths on the way through and plan the equipment before we arrive.
