How much does pipe relining cost in Sydney?

There is no honest fixed price for pipe relining, because the number depends on what nobody can see from the street: how long the damaged section is, how deep it sits, and what condition the pipe is in. We quote relining after a CCTV inspection, upfront and in writing, before any work starts.

What we quote is what you pay. No surprise bills.

Why we do not publish a from-price for relining

Because a from-price for relining would be close to meaningless. Two houses in the same street can need completely different work: one a short liner across a single cracked joint, the other a long run under a driveway with three junctions. Publishing one number would tell you nothing useful about yours.

What affects the cost of pipe relining?

Six things: the length of pipe being lined, its diameter, how deep it sits, how many junctions and bends it contains, how easy it is to access, and what the pipe is made of. Those six are what the camera survey measures, and together they set the quote.

How much of the pipe needs lining?

Only the damaged part, in most cases. A single cracked joint or a short broken section can take a patch liner. A line that has failed in several places along its length usually needs a full liner from the access point to the boundary, which uses more material and more time.

How deep does the pipe sit, and can we reach it?

Depth and access matter because relining works from an existing opening, such as an inspection shaft, a boundary trap or a removed toilet pan. Where there is a usable access point nearby, the job is straightforward. Where there is none, creating one adds work before the lining even begins.

Junctions, bends and what the pipe is made of

A straight run of old clay pipe is the simplest case. Junctions where a branch line joins need reinstating after lining so the branch still drains. Multiple bends, changes of diameter, and sections that have collapsed rather than cracked all add time, and a fully collapsed pipe may need excavation instead.

Relining or digging: which one costs more?

Excavation is often the more expensive option once you count putting things back. Digging means breaking out and rebuilding whatever sits above the pipe: a driveway, a path, courtyard tiles, a garden, sometimes a slab. Relining works from an access point, so most of that reinstatement cost does not arise.

Digging still wins where a pipe has collapsed completely or has to be rerouted.

What the CCTV inspection tells us before we quote

The camera survey gives the length, depth, diameter, material, the exact fault positions and the junctions in the run. That is what turns a guess into a quote. You see the footage, we explain what is failing, and you get a written price before anything is booked in.

If the drain is blocked right now, the clear and the inspection usually happen in the same visit. More on blocked drains and what a clear costs.

Questions

Pipe relining cost FAQs

How much does pipe relining cost in Sydney?

There is no fixed price, and anyone quoting one without seeing your pipe is guessing. We inspect the line with a CCTV camera, then give you a written price upfront, before any work starts.

Why can you not quote relining over the phone?

Because the price depends on the length, depth, diameter and condition of the damaged section, and on how many junctions are in the run. None of that is visible until the camera goes down the line.

Do you charge a call-out fee for a relining inspection?

No call-out fee in business hours. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber.

Is relining cheaper than digging up the pipe?

Often, once you count reinstatement. Excavation means rebuilding the driveway, path or garden above the pipe. Relining works from an existing access point, so most of that cost never arises.

How long does a relined pipe last?

The liner is a structural repair rather than a patch, and it seals the joints the roots were using. Our Lifetime Labour Guarantee covers the workmanship on every job we do.

Can you reline a drain shared with a neighbour or a strata block?

Yes. We locate the failing section first and tell you in writing whether it sits in your lot or on common property, so everyone knows who is paying before we quote.

Do you put a camera down the drain?

Yes. We inspect the line with a CCTV drain camera, show you the footage, and give you a fixed price for the fix before we start. You see what we see.

Will you have to dig up my yard?

Usually not. Most root damage is fixed by jet blasting and no-dig pipe relining through the existing access points. We only excavate where a section of pipe has collapsed, and you get a fixed price before any digging starts.

How does your fixed pricing work?

Upfront fixed price before any work starts. You only pay for the work we do. The online quote tool gives you a guide price in about a minute; the plumber confirms the exact price on site before touching anything.

Do you attend emergencies after hours?

Yes, every night from 6pm to 7am. Call 1300 111 007 and the on-call plumber answers, tells you whether we can get to you tonight, and quotes the after-hours call-out fee before we dispatch. We aim to be on site within 60 minutes for emergencies in the Inner West, St George and the Shire.

Which areas do you cover?

From our Earlwood base we cover the Inner West, St George, the Sutherland Shire, the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore, and greater Sydney for larger jobs. Tell us your suburb and we tell you the real travel time.
