What affects the price of gas fitting?
The appliance, the distance from the nearest gas point, and the access. Connecting a new cooktop to an existing point beside it is a short job.
Running a new line under the floor, through a wall cavity or across the yard takes longer, and the gas fitter checks that the existing pipe is big enough for what you are adding. Every price includes the testing the work needs before the gas goes back on.

If a hot water system is part of the job, the hot water price and the gas price come together in the same quote.

Yes. The gas side is our licensed gas fitter capping or extending the line and certifying it; where an electrician is also needed we coordinate the two trades, so you deal with one plumber and one fixed price.
