Why is there no single after-hours price on this page?

We do not publish an after-hours rate, because it depends on the job, the hour and where you are. What we do instead: when you call 1300 111 007 after hours, the on-call plumber tells you the call-out fee on the phone, before anyone leaves.

You decide, and nothing is charged for the call itself.

What does the repair cost?

The same guide prices as in business hours, confirmed on site: burst pipes from $233 inc GST, blocked drains from $198 inc GST, hot water from $218 inc GST, leaking taps and toilets from $218 inc GST, gas fitting from $110 inc GST, and general plumbing from $242 inc GST. Every extra job done in the same visit saves you $110, confirmed on site.

When is it worth waiting until morning?

When nothing is getting worse. A dripping tap, a slow drain that still runs, a running cistern or a quote for new work is cheaper in business hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, there is no call-out fee and the office books you a time.

Book online tonight and Nick or Julie aim to call you back within 30 minutes of opening at 7am. For anything that cannot wait, see our after-hours page.

What counts as an emergency?

Water you cannot stop, no water at all, sewage coming back up, a gas smell, a hot water unit leaking or failing with a baby or someone elderly at home, the only toilet in the home out of action, or water coming through a ceiling. If you are not sure, call: we tell you honestly whether it can wait and save you the after-hours fee.

What can I do while I wait?

Turn the water off at the meter, usually at the front boundary near the footpath. If a hot water unit is leaking, switch it off at the switchboard (electric) or turn the gas isolation tap to off (gas).

If you smell gas, leave the building and call Jemena's gas emergency line on 131 909 before you call us. Moving what water can damage, and taking a photo or two, helps the repair and any insurance claim.

How quickly can a plumber get to me?

We aim to be on site within 60 minutes for emergencies in the Inner West, St George and the Sutherland Shire, and we tell you the real time when you call. The Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore depend on where the on-call plumber is that night; we never promise a time we cannot keep.

Do weekends cost more?

The office answers 7am to 6pm, seven days, and on weekends it books weekday times. Weekend attendance is for emergencies, with the call-out fee quoted upfront, exactly as after hours.

Can I pay a bigger emergency repair off over time?

Yes. Interest-free payment plans through Payright are available on larger jobs, like a hot water replacement.

Ask when you call and we set it up before the work starts.

Questions

Emergency plumber cost FAQs

How much does an emergency plumber cost in Sydney?

No call-out fee in business hours. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber. The repair is a fixed price given on site before any work starts, at the same guide prices as in business hours.

Do you charge more on weekends?

The office answers 7am to 6pm every day and books weekday times. Weekend attendance is for emergencies, with the call-out fee quoted upfront before we dispatch, and the repair is a fixed price before any work starts.

How much does it cost to fix a burst pipe?

Burst pipes from $233 inc GST, confirmed on site, with an upfront fixed price before any work starts. A burst pipe you cannot shut off is an emergency: call 1300 111 007, and after hours the on-call plumber answers.

Water is coming through my ceiling. What do I do first?

Turn off the water at the meter at the front boundary, switch off power to the affected room at the switchboard if water is near any light or fitting, put a bucket under the drip, and call 1300 111 007. After hours this is an emergency and the on-call plumber answers.

I can smell gas. What should I do?

Do not flick any switches, open doors and windows, leave the building, and call Jemena's gas emergency line on 131 909. Then call us on 1300 111 007: our gas fitter isolates the leak and makes the installation safe, and gas stays off until it is safe to turn back on.

Will my insurance cover the damage?

Many home policies cover sudden damage from a burst pipe but not a slow leak that has been going for months, so check your policy. We give you photos and a plain written report of what failed and what we did, which is what insurers ask for.

Who answers the phone at night?

The on-call plumber, from our own team. Not a call centre. If the line is busy for a moment, call again.

Will I get a fixed price at night?

Yes. The after-hours call-out fee is quoted before we dispatch, and the repair is a fixed price given on site before any work starts. You only pay for the work we do, and the Lifetime Labour Guarantee applies.

Can I book a non-urgent job after hours?

Yes, online. Use the booking form or the quote tool and Nick or Julie aim to call you back within 30 minutes of the office opening at 7am. A dripping tap or a slow drain is cheaper to fix in business hours, with no call-out fee.

Which suburbs do you cover after hours?

The Inner West, St George, the Sutherland Shire, the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore, from our Earlwood base. The on-call plumber gives you the real travel time for your suburb when you call.
