Blakehurst sits on the Princes Highway above Kogarah Bay and the Georges River, running down to the water near the Captain Cook Bridge. The blocks are steep and a good number of them end at the waterline. Part of our St George service area.
Call 1300 111 007. Open 7am to 6pm, seven days.
Blakehurst is largely 1960s and 1970s brick, with bigger waterfront properties and a steady run of knockdown rebuilds along the water side.
Long, deep sewer runs. A steep Blakehurst block means the sewer travels a long way at depth to reach the main. More pipe and more joints is more chance of roots and cracks, and digging it up is expensive on a slope. We camera the line first and reline where we can. More on blocked drains.
Salt air on the water side. Close to the river, brass fittings, outdoor taps, gas bayonets and steel hot water tanks give up earlier than the same parts a few streets uphill. Where a system sits and how sheltered it is changes how long the next one lasts, so we look before we recommend.
Stormwater coming downhill. Properties on the fall take runoff from everything above them. Broken or undersized stormwater lines put that water against the footings instead of into the system. We trace the run properly rather than guessing at the low point.
Pumped waste below the main. Some Blakehurst properties sit below the sewer main and rely on a pump. When a pump fails there is no gravity backup, so it becomes urgent quickly. We service and replace them and can tell you whether yours has any alarm worth the name.
A lot of Blakehurst is being rebuilt. New houses on old connections inherit the original sewer and water service even when everything above ground is new. We check what you are connecting to before the slab goes down, which is much cheaper than finding out afterwards.

Very prompt response to my initial web contact. The plumber arrived in the arranged time and the service was extremely professional and friendly. Cleaned up after the work finished.
Pink Plumbing provided great service from start to finish. Very professional and friendly, communicated clearly, and completed the job to a high standard. Really impressed.

Questions
A storage unit sized for a smaller household, or one that is simply tired. We look at the demand, the pipework and the gas or electricity available, then tell you whether a bigger storage unit, a continuous-flow system or a heat pump suits the house, with a fixed price before any work starts.
If the fixtures sit below the sewer main, yes. We check the levels and tell you plainly. If you already have one, we can service it and make sure the alarm actually works.
No call-out fee in business hours. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber.
Salt air. Close to the Georges River it is hard on steel tanks and brass fittings. Position and shelter make a real difference, so we look at where the unit sits before recommending the replacement.
Often. We pressure test the pool lines and the fill supply separately, then use acoustic and thermal leak detection to find the leak before anyone digs. Then we repair that spot and test it again.
In most cases, yes. We camera the line to find the exact break, then reline it from the access points. If a short section truly has to be dug, we tell you where and why before we start.
