Jet blasting clears a blocked drain with high-pressure water, cutting through grease, tree roots, silt and scale and scouring the pipe wall clean. Pink Plumbing cameras the drain first, blasts it, then cameras it again so you can see the pipe is clear. Call 1300 111 007.

Jet blasting is high-pressure water fed down the drain through a hose and a specialised nozzle. Most of the jets fire backwards, so the nozzle pulls itself along the pipe while it cuts the blockage apart and scours the pipe wall on the way through.
The machine is a water tank, engine, pump and hose, carried on a trailer or in the van. Nozzles are picked for the cause: a cutting head for tree roots, a flushing head for grease, silt and scale.
What jet blasting is not is a repair. Water cannot mend a cracked, collapsed or sagging pipe. Where the camera shows structural damage, we quote relining or repair instead of a jetter every six months.
For taps, toilets and everyday jobs, see our general plumbing page.
An electric eel bores a hole through the blockage so water moves again. A jet blaster cleans the full diameter of the pipe. That difference decides whether the same drain blocks again next season.
The eel suits solid blockages close to the house, toilet and small internal waste lines, and pipes already damaged enough that high pressure could make things worse. The jetter suits grease-choked kitchen lines, root-affected sewers and silted stormwater. Often we use both: eel to get flow back, jetter to clean the pipe properly.
Camera first, jetter second, camera again. We do not blast blind.
We open your inspection opening or boundary trap, run the CCTV camera down the line and show you what is in there and where it sits. Then we jet blast with the nozzle that matches the cause. Then the camera goes back down, so you can see the pipe is clear and see any cracks, root entry points or dropped joints the blockage was hiding. You get the footage and a plain-English explanation of what caused it and whether it will return.
Different lines block for different reasons, and each wants a different nozzle.
Kitchen and laundry lines. Cooking fat goes down hot and sets on the pipe wall until food scraps finish the job. High-pressure water strips it back to bare pipe.
Sewer lines. Tree roots through old clay joints, with wipes and paper caught in the root mat. A cutting nozzle clears the roots and scours the joint faces.
Stormwater. Leaves, silt, mulch and roots fill pits and lines, and you find out in the first heavy downpour.
Commercial kitchens. Grease traps, floor wastes and the lines between them are jetted on a schedule, not after a shutdown.
Scheduled jet blasting costs less than an emergency, and far less than a flooded common area.
Where a line has a known problem, roots in a shared sewer, grease in a restaurant waste, silt in a stormwater pit, we jet it at a set interval before it blocks and camera it, so the committee or the owner has a record of the pipe over time.
No call-out fee in business hours. After-hours, weekend and emergency call-outs carry a call-out fee, always quoted upfront before we dispatch a plumber.
Blocked drain clearing starts from $198 inc GST. Every price here is a guide, confirmed on site before any work starts. What we quote is what you pay. No surprise bills.
What moves the price is where the blockage sits, how we reach it and whether the line needs a camera inspection. Upfront fixed price before any work starts. You only pay for the work we do.
Sewage backing up through a floor waste or a gully running into the yard is an emergency. Stop using water in the house, keep people and pets away from it and call 1300 111 007. Our emergency plumbers are available after hours across Sydney.
A blocked drain is an urgent repair under NSW tenancy law, and in a block it is rarely one owner's problem alone. We attend, jet the line and send you the camera footage, a written summary and a fixed price for anything structural, so you can show a tenant, an owner or a committee what happened.

A sound clay pipe handles jetting without trouble. A cracked or collapsed one is a different matter, which is why we camera the line first. If the pipe is fragile we drop the pressure, change the nozzle, or tell you it needs relining.
Yes. A cutting nozzle shears the root mass out of the pipe and scours the joint faces the roots grew through. They come back unless the crack or open joint is repaired, so we camera the line afterwards and show you where they got in.
Only where a line has a history. A drain that has never blocked does not need it. A restaurant kitchen waste or grease trap usually suits every three to six months, and a sewer with known root intrusion about once a year.
Yes, on every jetting job. The first run finds the cause and its location so we pick the right nozzle. The second proves the pipe is clear and shows any damage the blockage was hiding. You see the footage.
Yes, and it is safer for your pipes. Supermarket drain chemicals rarely reach a blockage out in the sewer line, they sit in the trap, and repeated use can attack older pipework and seals. Water at pressure removes the blockage itself.
In older Sydney suburbs the sewer under the garden is usually earthenware (clay) with a joint every few feet. Tree roots find the joints, waste catches on the roots, and the line blocks again every few months. A camera inspection shows the cause; jet blasting clears it; pipe relining seals the joints so the roots cannot get back in, without digging up the yard.
Usually not. Most root damage is fixed by jet blasting and no-dig pipe relining through the existing access points. We only excavate where a section of pipe has collapsed, and you get a fixed price before any digging starts.
