What Paddington terraces are made of, and what goes wrong
A Paddington terrace is narrow, joined to its neighbours on both sides, built long before indoor bathrooms were standard, so most carry two or three generations of pipe in walls never meant to be opened.
Original pipework, patched over decades. It is normal to find modern tapware joined to copper joined to galvanised pipe older than anyone in the street.
